Help protect the beautiful native species planted along the Pool 6 Trail by joining WTRCAT and the Lake Superior Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for an invasive species removal day on Friday, July 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Last year, nearly 30 volunteers came together to restore this important natural area. This year, we're returning to remove common tansy (Tanacetum vulgare), an invasive plant introduced from Europe that spreads aggressively, crowds out native wildflowers and grasses, and reduces valuable habitat for local wildlife. By removing tansy before it can spread further, volunteers will help protect the native species planted during last year's restoration project.
Volunteers are asked to bring gardening tools or shovels, gloves, sturdy footwear, sunscreen, and water. Pizza will be provided following the event as a thank you for your support. For more information about the event, and to RSVP, please contact Audrey.
