What Inspires People to Protect the Environment?

A new research project, led by Sakib Mahmud and Geoff Bell—members of the Duluth Eco Rotary Club and faculty at the University of Wisconsin Superior and the University of Minnesota Duluth—is exploring just that. They’re seeking to understand the values, beliefs, and life experiences that lead people to care about the environment and take action to protect it.

While the researchers are based in the United States, they are very interested in hearing Canadian voices as well. This cross-border perspective will help paint a broader picture of what motivates individuals to become environmental stewards.

The Lakehead Rotary Club is proud to support this meaningful initiative by helping raise awareness and encouraging community participation. We believe in the power of shared stories to inspire change—and that starts with you.
