Lakehead Rotary is proud to continue supporting ShelterBox Canada and its powerful mission: to help ensure no one is left without shelter after disaster.
Following the recent devastating earthquake in Colombia, we are reminded just how quickly life can change. In moments, families can lose their homes, their belongings and the sense of safety most of us take for granted. ShelterBox provides emergency shelter and essential supplies to families affected by disasters and conflict around the world, offering something equally important along the way: dignity, security and the first steps toward rebuilding.
There is a special Rotary connection, too. ShelterBox began as a Rotary Club project in Cornwall, England, in 2000, and today Rotary and ShelterBox continue to work together in disaster relief around the world.
Because inside every ShelterBox is more than emergency aid.
There is shelter.
There is dignity.
And most importantly, there is hope.
