Building Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

Every summer, Rotary District 5580 hosts RYLA, a weeklong leadership experience for high school students at the University of Minnesota Crookston. It is designed to give young people the chance to grow their confidence, recognize their strengths, and develop practical skills in communication and problem solving. The camp blends interactive activities, group challenges, and guided conversations to help students see themselves as leaders in their schools and communities. Volunteer Rotarians play a big role in mentoring participants, and resources help frame the week’s lessons around personal growth and responsibility.
What makes RYLA truly unique is that it is offered completely free of charge to campers, opening the door for every student who is ready to learn and lead.

On Wednesday, October 8 at 6:30 PM, students who attended this past summer’s RYLA camp will share their stories and experiences during a special joint club presentation. The event will be held in the gymnasium of The George Jeffrey Children’s Centre (200 Brock Street East).
Come hear how a single week has left a lasting impact on these young leaders. Refreshments will be available, and all are welcome to attend.
