Imagine a circle of young people, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, gathered together with a shared hope to shape a better future. That is the vision Honouring Indigenous Peoples, also known as HIP, is carrying forward, and are reaching out for help to find the youth who are ready to be part of this journey.  For several years now, HIP has created a place where young leaders can come together, learn from one another, and take their first steps toward a future rooted in reconciliation, peace, and care for the land. This gathering is called the National Youth to Youth Reconciliation Experience, and it offers students the chance to learn not only from mentors, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers, but also from each other.

Last year, fifty youth travelled from communities across Canada to Nova Scotia. There, they shared land based teachings, stories, and experiences that opened hearts and strengthened understanding. Now the next chapter is beginning. HIP is searching for a new group of fifty students, ages fifteen to seventeen, who are eager to take part in the 2026 Reconciliation Experience. The gathering will take place at Six Nations of the Grand River in Ontario from March 22 to 28, 2026. Everything, including travel, the program, and the learning, is completely free for participants.

To join this experience, students must submit an application. The deadline to enter is December 15, 2025, and all interested youth are encouraged to apply early so they have the best chance of being selected. This experience is open to both Indigenous and non Indigenous students, and we hope to gather a group that reflects many voices, backgrounds, and communities.
