CLUB ASSEMBLY - EVENING MEETING
Mar. 05, 2026 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

December Dreams has long been a small winter tradition the community looks forward to each year. It’s the kind of artisan show where one-of-a-kind gifts are discovered, last-minute holiday treasures are found, and familiar faces gather in a shared seasonal rhythm. Its continued success has not only delighted shoppers but has also generously supported the club, something we’re truly grateful for.

As with all beloved traditions, though, time asks us to pause, look around, and imagine what comes next. To stay vibrant, relevant, and competitive alongside other events, December Dreams must be willing to evolve.

This evening session is designed as a think-tank. Members are invited to bring ideas, insights, and fresh perspectives on how we might reimagine and revitalize this valuable event for the future.
Please note the following details:
  • There will be no regular club meeting on this day
  • Interested members are invited to join us for pizza at RFDA at 5:30 PM sharp 🍕
  • Please email Audrey in advance with any dietary requirements
Bring your appetite, your ideas, and your imagination. Let’s dream December forward ✨

Guest Speaker - Carolyn Karle (DEK)
Apr. 02, 2026 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
We are honoured to welcome guest speaker Carolyn Karle, founder of the DEK Foundation, to speak with the Lakehead Rotary Club.
Born from deep personal loss and transformed through courage and purpose, the DEK Foundation is a community-driven, volunteer-led organization committed to supporting those affected by addiction and advocating for stronger resources to address the addiction crisis in Thunder Bay. What began as one mother’s determination to create change has grown into a powerful local movement rooted in hope, compassion, and action.

Carolyn will share how the foundation is uniting community leaders through a dedicated Board of Directors and inspiring meaningful change. This movement honours the memory of her daughter Dayna, while standing alongside every individual and family still navigating the challenges of addiction. Her story is a reminder of the impact one voice can have when guided by love, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to community.
